Week of April 12th, 2009

Posted April 14th, 2009 at 06:22 AM by cathythomas
Well I had to completly dump the MBD, about 3 weeks ago due to the chornic issue of constipation. I went about 3 weeks ago and had a colonic and it was the best thing I could have done for myself, I found out that Bananas have lots of potassium (as I knew this) but what I did not realize is that they can cause constipation and I was suffering. I'm only having 1/2 of a banana now in the morning and not every morning, as my sytem is so sensative and any thing will cause me to not have a regular bowel movement, medication, change in my rest habits or traveling. So needless to say I'm giving up on the MBD as it is not for me, and I'm sticking to my better eating habits (eating raw) and eating lots of fish and chicken (baked or broiled) and getting my daily exercise at least 4 days a week. I will be checking the Blogs now an then to see how other are doing with the MBD. Good Luck to all of you MBD fans.:)

Week 7 - Feb 22nd - 28th

Posted February 23rd, 2009 at 01:29 PM by cathythomas
Well I wrapped up week 6 not to good, over the weekend I had a lot of work going on at my house and felt the need to eat chips, cookies and lots of other junk:confused:. Week 7 new week and I started Monday morning back on track with the Gym and my morning Banana, so I'm not going to beat myself up about the weekend. The weight lose is still happening I just need to get back on track and stay on it. I'm still having an issue with my bowels not mving every day and when they do I have to take something so I not sure what this is all about, my system adjusting or the change of diet. I'm monitoring that issue and hoping this will pass soon. Well I will update about this week 7 on Friday.

Week 5 Feb 8 thru Feb 14

Posted February 12th, 2009 at 08:25 AM by cathythomas
Updated February 12th, 2009 at 08:27 AM by cathythomas
Well I'm into week 5 and everything is really going quite well, I'm having some issue with constipation (but this has always been an issue with me whenever I've made changes to my eating habits so I will need to find a way to resolve this issue). But as far my weight loss it has been really great, again I do not own a scale so the number of lbs that I lost is unknown to me but the way I look and feel in my clothes tells me the story that I want to have a happy ending too. I wore a pair of black slacks on yesterday that a few months ago I could get them on but they look a mess on me and I felt uncomfortable in them. Being a woman of my age I cannot stand to wear something and 1st know that it does not look good on me and 2nd it does not feel good while I'm wearing it. I'm not sure what I want as a goal weight, I feel that I will Brick Wall at some point, but I'm getting to the gym regularly and as soon as the weather gets warmer I will be back in the park onthe walking trail (that's what I love most). My appetitite it truly been curbed and I don't get hungry throught the midmorning or mid evening, I'm eating smaller portions of food, so I really don't deny myself anything, I just don't have need to eat alot. Well I'm feeling good and looking good and plan to eat a nice dinner this Vday. :p

Week 4 Feb. 1st - 6th - Conitnued

Posted February 5th, 2009 at 07:51 AM by cathythomas
Well it's Thursday of week 4 and I'm doing really quite well, getting to Gyn and doing 1.5 miles on the Treadmill, getting some time in on the Eliptical machine, and doing my lower body weight, I do my upper body at home. On Wednesday morning I skipped having the Banana for Breakfast and had a bowl of Oatmeal (just was not feeling like eating a Banana). I think it helps to have something diffrent now and then to keep from getting burned out on the Banana, also I keep in mind I can subsitute another fruit sometimes in the palce of the MOB. But I'm feeling goog and my clothes are looking better and better on me. I am having some problem with the frequency of a bowel movement  and may need to explore that issue a little more. I will up date my progress for week 4 on Sunday or Monday. Everybody keep you good work.:)

Week 4 Feb. 1st - 6th

Posted February 3rd, 2009 at 08:58 AM by cathythomas
Ok I'm starting week 4 of the MOB Diet, I staying faithful to having the Banana with Room Temp water every morning for Breakfast, and since I'm not a big eater one Banana is enough for me. I finding that this totally fills me up and I don not have that feeling of hunger all day long, there are time that I could prbably go without eating at all. My concern is my metabolisum should be working about every 4 hours letting me know to eat something, when I initally started the diet it was but now I at the point that I just feel pretty full all the time and I don't have to eat every 4 hours. Today I did have the midmorning snack of the 100 calorie bag of pretzels. I'm back in the Gym this week and also doing some upper body exercise at home. I have lost weight, not sure how much as I don't have scale at home just going by how my clothes are fitting me, and they are looking much better on me. I don't think that my concern is a massive amount of weight loss but looking better in my clothes and I know that going to the gym and working out and toning is going to help improve they I look. I will let you know how things are by the end of this week.

Week 3 Jan 25 thru 31 (Beginning of week)

Posted January 26th, 2009 at 08:50 AM by cathythomas
Ok I' starting week 3 and finding this diet to be a Breeze for me, I'm doing great with my food intake and sticking with the Banana with water (room temp) in the morning. This weekend I fudged a little on Sunday morning and skipped the Banana and water all together, but I had Brunch around 12:00 noon no breakfast at all and basically the brunch was my only meal the whole day. I did have a sanck of Pretzels (1 bag that is 100 calorie per bag) and that was all and I drank lots of waster that night before going to be (4 8oz bottles). I'm feeling really good the weight is coming off and my energy is up. I will let you know what things are like at the end of this week.:)

Week 2 Jan 18th thur 24th

Posted January 23rd, 2009 at 09:28 AM by cathythomas
Today is Friday January 23, 2009 and this is going on week 2 for me with the Banana Diet, and it is working as I metnioned I do not have a scale at home but I'm strictly going off the way my clothes are fitting me. I'm using this method because ultimately that is what I want is to look better in my clothes so to get on scale everyday and see if I've lost a pound or 2 is not going to cut it for me the end result for me is how I look in my clothes when I look in the mirror and if they are looking better and better to me each day or week I'm ok with everything. And that's the result that I'm receiving here in week 2 my clothes are fitting better, even looser so this confirmation enough for me. I find that with doing the banana in the mornign with water (room temp) I get the feeling of being very full and I can go until lunch time before I really need to eat again and then I'm good until dinner time and not really needing to snack in between, but if I do snack it's fruit or some type of reduced calorie snack. I went on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009 to Washington DC to see Preisdent Barack Obama get sweared as the nation next Presidnet and even though I started my day very early and got away from the routine, my appetite was very low that day, may have been all of the excitement but I did not feel a need to eat that much, even though I'm not a big eatter, I have really reduce my food intake and I think that I'm learning good eating habits with this. Hope everyone else is having the same kind of success that I'm having.

THis is my first week on the Banana Diet, I actually started on Monday Jan 12, 2009 and this is Friday Jan 16, 2009, and I feel benefits of the feeling full from eating it first thing in the morning and it is considered as my breakfast and I follow up with the water and before I leave the house for work I have about 1/2 glass of Orange Juice, I do this to take my mornign medication and vitamins with. There is the benefit feeling full and I do not eat lunch until around 11;30 -12:00 noon and I'm good for the remained of the my work day, I enjoy a snack if I want to but most times I still feeling pretty full. I will Blog again on next Friday for an update for week 18 thru 24, although I'm off to DC on Tuesday for the President Obama's Swearing in Ceremonies, but I wil have my banana and water before leaving home at a very early 3:00 am hour.
