First Monday of the Diet

Today is my first Monday of the MoBaD (I like that acronym). Anyway, I try not to eat anything until I get to work. So I have my breakfast, lunch and snack packed and ready to go. Today, however, after reading over the rules a bit more, I have packed a morning snack as well. It's only 2 oz of chicken, but the protein may help me. I find myself watching the clock around 10am until I can get away to eat lunch - I don't want to do that. I want to be thinking of anything BUT lunch.

I have been succeeding on eating slower, and I make myself concentrate on what I am eating. I am also working on putting the fork down between bites rather than "guarding it with my life" so to speak.

Another thing - after this first week, I am going to try very hard to only weigh myself once a week. I know from past experiences that weighing every day could be very discouraging because of the fluctuating scale. Like Wynonna Judd says in the alli commercial - I am more than a number on the scale!

Congratulations with getting started! Since you are hungry couple hours before lunch, how many bananas are you eating for breakfast? It may help if you eat at least 2 with the water. I have started out with 2 because that keeps me fuller longer. I know once my stomach shrinks a bit from stretching it over the years with huge meals, I'll probably only need one banana, but for now 2 does the trick and I'm not trying to cheat. Eating slower is a great idea..I have been focusing on that as well. Good Luck! Look forward to reading your posts!

I do have 2 - but I don't have them at the same time - basically because I am trying to eat 6 small portions/times rather than 3 huge portions/times. Today was a rough day at work, however I am thankful for the job...so I did slip up tonight and had a glass of chocolate soymilk with dinner. But there is always tomorrow - I can start over tomorrow.

Don't beat yourself up! Your choices were still healthy ones and we're not going to do the diet perfectly every day. Look at all the positive things you did - you had your fruit (bananas) for breakfast, water, and hopefully got plenty of sleep.. Good luck today!
