Dr. Brian Wansink is a professor at Cornell University, the guy at the USDA in charge of the food pyramid, and the author of the "bottomless soup bowl" book Mindless Eating.

He's also the author of a new blog post called "The Morning Banana Diet Scandal." Yep, that's right, the MoBa "scandal."

We posted a blog post on this (http://morningbanana.com/brian-wansink-scandal-accusatio), but to make a long story short, Wansink heard a secondhand story about some diet scandal from a Japanese student several months ago, and somehow connected it to MoBa (it was actually the notorious Natto Diet TV show incident of January 2007, where a television producer made up a new diet from fake data and interviews, got great ratings, then crashed and burned when the true story leaked out).

Once he calms down about the fake scandal, Wansink actually sort of endorses the diet. Read our blog post for more details.

How can he call the Morning Banana Diet a scandal? lol Its not like you have to go to the store and buy into some packaged propaganda. Its a banana for goodness sakes... In my opinion, it is a whole lot healthier than eating cereal or grits in the morning.

Dr. Wansink eliminated the "scandal" portion of his blog post (cutting its length in half). He said that he got the story from the "London Herald," which had an inaccurate story.
