I am on the second day of the diet, and this morning I weighed myself, and to my horror I have gained about 6 pounds. If you want to see what I have been eating, read my blog. Maybe my body isn't used to eating breakfast (I used to never eat breakfast, and sporadically eat crap mindlessly through the day). I think this may be more bloating than fat gain but I'm not sure. Has this happened to anyone else?

Had you been weighing yourself everyday before starting the diet? If you hadn't weighed in a while, maybe it was one freak thing or even a mistake, but if you weighed the same for days, and then now you're up six pounds, that's a shocker. The only thing to do is weigh yourself again tomorrow.
You should weigh under identical circumstances every time you weight. For instance, first thing in the morning, after you use the toilet, while wearing your pajamas. Don't weight at different times or wearing different clothes.

I have been weighing myself before the diet, lately my weight has been creeping upwards. I do weigh myself every morning after bathroom, always dressed the same. This will definitely be going on my blog, hopefully it starts to go downward.

I see that my weight is starting to slowly go back down. I think I was just bloated, perhaps not drinking enough water. However, after the sips in the morning, can you drink as much water as you like?

That's good to hear.
I think you can drink as much room temperature water as you want. between meals. It's just that there is no requirement to get a specific amount, like 8 glasses or two quarts or the like. Putting a quota on it is just another stress point, according to the diet.

Can we drink milo after 8pm if we feel a lil hungry?

The orthodox diet would say no. Only fruit within 4 hours of bedtime.
You could try it and see.
It depends on how much you buy into the "digestion" rationale of the diet, or whether you think the weight loss effect is simply from all the scheduling limits and the like of the diet.

I think you should wait a bit for the diet to work... There are no diets that offer an instantly weight loss, but in long-term this banana diet seems to work.
I will be starting tomorrow so I will tell you how it goes.

First of all this thing isn't a get-weight-quick scheme that you'll get six pounds within 2 days. This is suposed to give you a healthy diet. Try hwat the Moderator has suggested . It's quite a rational suggestion.

I think you should stop eating mindlessly throughout the day, and stick to more disciplined eating habits. I have a feeling you are not drinking enough water too. Now, when you eat plenty of snacks in between, you might actually overeat without knowing it. What sort of snacks do you eat? Why not replace these snacks with fresh fruits, nuts, and veggies and watch the changes? I am sure you did not gain all that weight just because you ate bananas for breakfast the previous day.
I wish you all luck with your diet.

just from a medical standpoint, the weight gain may also be attributed to phases in the menstrual cycle (for females) and stress levels (for both sexes). also, cortisol levels in the blood fluctuate during the day so this can also be the reason why there is weight gain.
as advised, weigh yourself at a specific time with more or less similar clothing so that the readings are more accurate.;)

Even if it's not bananas, eating breakfast every day will help prevent weightgain

No. The banana isn't a magic potion, it's a part of an overall nutrition plan.
If you switch to eating some other kind of fruit, and otherwise continue the plan, all will be well.
If you switch to egg mcmuffins, it won't.
