You can use other fruit if you wish, although bananas are reputed to be the most effective.

October 25, and today is the first day of my first diet "The Banana Diet". Gaining 20lbs over a 2yr period after an abdominal surgery (mostly tummy weight), has been a depressing fact. Never having to diet before, this is a new one. I will keep you posted twice weekly as to my personal Banana journey......including all relevevant facts, ie; exercise levels, eating habits, sleep etc.

Here I gooooooooo.................

I just heard about this diet and it looks simple, I'm starting today. I will give it two weeks. The funny thing is that my husband has always started his day with a banana. He does have a morning snack, lunch, an afternoon snack, and supper. He doesn't snack after dinner and he is very slim. I've never been enthusiastic about bananas as I thought that they can aid in gaining weight, and that his slimness is due to genetics. But, I'll try this. I have 30 lbs to lose, and the hardest part of the diet for me is losing some initial weight to get motivated to continue. Whoever said that you should only lose 2 lbs a week, has completely missed the motivation factor.

From what I have read It has to work. I mean replacing water for most of your beverage consumption, is a known proven wieght-loss fact. And eating bananas first thing in the morning to jump start our metabolism is a great way to create energy.

I never knew that eating banana first thing in the morning, crates energy. I have had bananas almost roaming about in my house, but I don't quite like to eat them. Looks like things are going to change from tommorrow morning.

I don't think you should eat the ones roaming around your house, lol:D. But yeah, they fill you and boost your metabolism. Morning is the best time for this, since you need that energy for the whole day through.
