Just a few clarifications.... I am confused in a way :|
So here we go:
1.) Eat only raw, uncooked, unfrozen bananas
>> Well, I put my bananas in the fridge to prevent rotting. So I am eating "chilled" bananas. Is this considered as frozen bananas? And What do you mean raw? As in the green ones?
2.) There are no limits on what you can eat or the amount, including fried foods
>> Even cholesterol foods such as pork? I am actually abstaining from Pork and Beef but this particular rule sounds like we can have a go in pork? Can we really?
3.) The water should be drunk in small sips and not used to wash down food. There is no quota of water to drink, and you should not drink it in excess
>> When exactly can we drink water after meal?? I did mine 15 minutes after lunch. And what do you mean 'excess' if there is really no 'quota' of water to drink? Well, I am always thirsty so I dunno what to do.
4.) Outside of meals non-caloric beverages like tea, coffee, and diet soda are generally allowed but somewhat frowned upon, and in general water is encouraged as much as possible; milk products are not considered compatible with the diet
>> I drink Green Tea and Senna Tea every day. Green tea is known to be a fat eliminator as well isn't it? And Senna Tea is known to speed up metabolism (mostly found in many dieter's tea.) So are really these tea prohibited? How about Pro-digestion yogurt?? I always eat yogurt (0% fat, and lots of good bacterias for digestion.) If not then where will we get our source of calcium which is important for bowel movement??
There is also this Del Monte Fit and Right Juice Drink where L-Carnitine is present. We can't drink this as well?
that's all! ^u^

Hi, ryuji!

No, raw doesn't mean green. It means not cooked or frozen ... and I think that the official line is that the bananas shouldn't be refrigerated either. This relates to the supposed "secret sauce" nutrients and enzymes that would be reduced by any processing. There are those who don't believe in the enzyme theory, in which case refrigerating wouldn't be a problem. You can only try it and see what works for you.
>> Even cholesterol foods such as pork? I am actually abstaining from Pork and Beef but this particular rule sounds like we can have a go in pork? Can we really?
I think the idea is that the diet tries to be simple and easy to follow and non-stress-producing by not putting too many limits on you. So yes, you can eat whatever kind of food you want. It's a weight loss diet, not a health diet. If you think pork is bad for your health, that's a separate matter, and you should probably not eat it then. But you should take on too many things at once, since it will set you up for failure because you won't stick to a diet that is too restrictive.
As for eating whatever you want, that is in types of food, not in quantity. You should never feel too full. Stop when you're not hungry anymore.
>> When exactly can we drink water after meal?? I did mine 15 minutes after lunch. And what do you mean 'excess' if there is really no 'quota' of water to drink? Well, I am always thirsty so I dunno what to do.
You can drink water during your meal. You can drink water and other things between meals (although they seem to discourage drinking certain things like milk, and to a degree coffee, but that's not too strict), The only thing is you should wait 15 or 30 minutes after the breakfast to drink (or eat) something else.
>> I drink Green Tea and Senna Tea every day. Green tea is known to be a fat eliminator as well isn't it? And Senna Tea is known to speed up metabolism (mostly found in many dieter's tea.) My impression is that they don't allow yogurt with breakfast. I think I read that somewhere in an FAQ, but I'd have to find it. You could wait 30 minutes and then eat it. As for the tea, the same thing. Wait 30 minutes.

I don't think that yogurt or cheese would be high on the list of foods to have since milk is frowned upon.

Well, the thing is, I eat yogurt everyday, I drink milk everyday but I still lose weight using MBD.
I think is that you cant drink anything beyond 8pm except water if you want you metabolism to go okay in terms of MBD. I eat yogurt as my dessert (plain yogurt just to make sure to boost of my digestion) And I drink milk for my 3AM snack.
We need calcium to have bowel movement ( i knew this coz my mom had trouble in her bowel movement and she didn't have any for 3 days and we took her to the clinic only to find out that she lacks calcium. SHe regularly eat yogurt and drink milk since then and now her bowel movement is regular again. She had her check up in Japan by the way)
So that's it

I think dairy products are like coffee in that since they are not as popular in Japan as in the U.S., it was easy to just discourage them without much pushback or thought. For dieters outside of Japan where these foods are more important and frequently consumed, it might be a good idea to revisit them and see if there is really a problem with consuming them during the diet.

Hello to all,
I am an african american female who is mildly obese and just recently heard of this diet on the CBS news. I would like to know if anyone one knows of anybody of color who has tried the MBD and was successful losing weight. :)

I think the only thing you can do is try the diet for a month.. it really is not that hard. Everybody's chemical make-up is different, regardless of color. All of us are experimenting with this diet.

Do I have to drink that stupid water? I drink lots of white sometimes green tea (unsweetened ofc) because I don't like water besides it's getting really cold and I need to warm up my body.
Actually I just OMG realized that for the past 3 days I was doing "banana diet" not "morning banana diet":Dlol@me I was eating 1-2 bananas before EACH meal not only for the breakfast. But since in MoBa after breakfast you can eat whatever you want I don't have to start from the beginning.
And how much I can eat for snack?

Ah I have tried it and it actually works quite well. So far I've lost 8 pounds in less than 2 weeks. o_O
