I'm not really a morning banana--I do tend to enjoy my sleep. :) I see this is a relatively new forum or maybe one that has been slightly malnourished so I thought I would feed it with a post. I stumbled on an article about the Morning Banana Diet and thought that it could at least be an improvement on what I eat now. I thought I'd test it out since as far as I can see I wouldn't be losing much in the way of nutritious morning food of my normal sausage and hash browns etc. Well, all of you---the vast number of users, even though I have a feeling it will be me and the administrator, can call me Peach.

Yes, Peach, it's a little lonely in here. Perhaps we shouldn't have opened it up yet, but what's done is done. :o
I definitely think that bananas are going to be an improvement over sausage and hash browns -- although if you make your own hash browns, please share the recipe! I've never been able to get them to come out right.
I love peaches, but in Japan they are expensive. We can buy about five bananas for about U.S. $1.00, but only one peach for that amount. But the peaches are pretty good: you don't get many crunchy, unripe, unsweet ones.

Hey everyone.:D It's kinda quiet on this forum but just for now. I think this diet is easy to follow so maybe more people will come. Um...Today is the first day that I have ever heard about the Banana Diet but I am up to giving it a try because my current diet is not working for me at all and it's burning a hole in my pocket. I usually eat cereal and maybe some sweets for breakfast so a banana would def be an improvement. Bananas in Japan are really cheap so that was one of the reasons why I decided to try this diet out. Peace!

Yes, oddly bananas are cheap in Japan -- that's one of the three points in Hamachi's "concept" of the diet: cheap, doesn't require will power, and doesn't take up your time.
It's odd that imported bananas are so much cheaper than domestic fruit. But Japanaese fruit is so yummy! Melons, grapes, apples, nashi, mikans, persimmons, watermelons, strawberries! I wish it were not so expensive.
Kiwis are also cheap, but I think some are grown in Japan. At least I know that a farm two minutes away from where I live grows them.

The trick is to make them really dry before you cook them. I'm new, I'll make an intro thread after this, but i LOVE hash browns. I usually cook them after making a slice or two of bacon and then just using that grease. Wow, probably the least healthy thing I could have posted on a diet forum :D, but they're SO tasty. Look kind of grey and gross, though.

Haha! Yes, let's discuss fattening breakfast food in the Morning Banana forum!
Are you saying that you dry off the shredded potatoes before frying them? Most recipes call for some milk, so they couldn't be that dry. Maybe salting the raw shredded potatoes would draw out some moisture that you could pat off before adding milk and frying in the fat. I may try that.

I've never heard of adding milk. I just kind of pat them dry with a paper towel.
