You can have any sort of food you want for dinner. The idea is to restrict your breakfast to a high fiber, satiating fruit breakfast, and then eat "normally" for other meals, meaning you don't have to feel restricted to eating any particular food, but you should be reasonable about portions. Snacks are regulated, in that you should only have one snack at about 3:00 p.m. (sweets are O.K. and even encouraged), and a mid morning and after dinner snack are tolerated but somewhat frowned upon.

So it's kind of a loose diet, which takes the stress out of it, but may not work for people who need more specific regulation to overcome their poor eating habits.

If you want a bit more structure, you can sign up for the Morning Banana Diet Journal beta test, where you can keep daily track of your food and bedtime and other factors and use some social networking features for support.
