Well, I gave it a month. On the positive side, I think it helped curb my appetite. But despite that, I didn't really lose much maybe a pound or two.
But the big reason I'm quitting is that the last week I've been getting indigestion type stomach aches at night making it difficult to sleep. So I have to stop it for a while to see if that is the cause. Anybody else having problems with indigestion?

Mike,
I've not really been getting the indigestion type of reaction but, I get the full feeling all day long that kind makes my stomach feel qeasy. But I am losing weight. Let me know if by stopping this for while helps with your indigestion issues, and I will be more watchful of how my stomach is doing from this also. :D Thanks

Hi All,
I have lost 3 lbs this week on the banana diet (and its only Wednesday). I have felt full and satisfied and my cravings for sweets are staring to slacken off a lot. I love the fact that you don't have to count calories and I'm actually craving more water instead of the 6 pack of Diet Soda I normally have a day. So far no digestion problems - as a matter of fact - I've seen an improvement - a lot less acid reflux probably due to not eating 3 or 4 hours before going to bed. Keep posting how everyone is doing - and would love to have a diet Buddy.
Good Luck!

I too have noticed much less reflux but I also credit it to sleeping on an empty stomach and eating so much less fat.

I was starting to wonder also.
To the OP, he may have an intolerance to one of the components of bananas. He should try them green(ish) for a while, then only very ripe for a while. They undergo chemical changes when they ripen. I bet, when he goes greener they will upset him more, ripe, not at all.

does anyone know whether it's because lower calorie intake that we are supposed to lose weight or does banana have weight reducing properties?
also, i forgot to have banana and then it was lunch time, so i had soup. can i have a banana about 2 hours after that (afternoon snack) to make up for the missed banana in the morning?
cutting down on dessert and soda should eliminate lots of calories i would think, which causes the weight loss, and the banana is meant to make us feel full so that we don't eat empty calories.
please feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.
good luck, peeps. i know i need the luck!

I don't think the banana is magic. It's just a healthy food, to get you some blood sugar in the morning without putting you into fat-storage-mode, that happens to be cheap and convenient. Another fruit would fit he bill just fine.
I attribute my weight loss to less calories and understanding how the *type* of calories, and time of day, effect fat storage or fat burning.
The MBD encompasses these things well. But you still have to get the overall calories down too, or you can't win, no matter how many bananas you eat.
The banana is just part of what enables that.
That said, I eat around 20 bananas a week if I don't run out.

What does "cheating" mean to you?
Just curious.

bannanas are actualy full of potassium and iron makeing you feel fuller so it is kinda a magic food that tricks your stomach oh by the way if you are a girl which most of us are you should have milk or soy milk or this diet at least once a day
