Drinking after 8pm

Is there a restriction on how late you can drink? I noticed that there is an allowance for driniking alcohol socially - how late can you go for? Obviously with the Silly Season approaching there are going to be a fare few social occaissions.

I believe that alcohol is considered part of the dinner meal, so it would occur with that, which should be 6:00 p.m. or as late as 8:00 p.m., but no later.

Since alcohol contains calories, it would not really qualify as a freebie between meal beverage.
