I noticed on a trip to Chiba that the local bookstore had a diet book display, and they were featuring the Morning Banana Diet book from Akino Shuppan (this is not the one written by "Hamachi").

They had a homemade sign and a wicker basket full of fake bananas. While I was watching, two women stopped to flip through the book, including the one photographed.

Here's another photo from that bookstore, showing a wicker basket of fake bananas the they set up for promotional purposes.

You can also see several SHIHO diet books. SHIHO is a super thin promoter of yoga and the like for slimming the waist.

(I just noticed that the skinny diet guru's name is spelled SHINO, not SHIHO.)

The orange mook-like book shown in the photographs is easier to read and more clear than Hamachi's own book. The fact that the orange one was written by third party editors who came at the diet fresh helped them to grasp the essence and distill it down. If you want excruciating detail, Hamachi has tons of esoteric questions and answers taken from the Mixi forums.
